Amateur Rules & Regulations

  • General Rules

    • Amateur events are sanctioned by DanceSport BC (DSBC) and will be run according to DSBC Bylaws and Rules. Syllabus events will be invigilated.
    • “Under 21” events will not be rated.
    • Please refer to the DSBC website at www.dancesportbc.com or our website at www.snowballclassic.com for applicable rules and regulations.
    • Events will be cancelled or combined if there are insufficient entries. SnowBall Classic reserves the right to limit the number of couples in each event.
    • All competitors or their legal guardians must sign the waiver on the front of this form to be eligible to compete. Competitors under 19 years of age MUST have this release signed by a parent or legal guardian.

    Dress Regulations

    • Costuming rules will be strictly enforced and costumes may be inspected prior to each event. Please refer to the DSBC Dress Code by accessing the DSBC website at www.dancesportbc.com.

    Entry Fees & Tickets

    • Entry Fee $10 per couple, except for Junior and Juvenile competitors. There are no refunds for entry fees.
    • Each competitor must purchase full Admission Ticket for the day of the event (daytime tickets are not valid). Tickets are non-refundable. Tickets may be purchased at http://shop.dancesportbc.com or by email to tickets@dancesportbc.com
    • A limited number of Competitor Passes are available. Competitors do not require a Competitor Pass to compete, but must purchase a full Admission Ticket. Competitor Pass holders who do not compete will not be granted entry until he/she has upgraded the Competitor Pass to a regular full Admission Ticket(s). No refunds on all ticket purchases including Competitor Passes.
    • There will be a late entry fee of $25 for all entries received and accepted after the entry deadline. Late entries will only be accepted if this does not necessitate further rounds. No entries will be accepted on the day of the event.

    Competitor Numbers & Deposit

    • Couples must register together, pickup their numbers and sign the waiver forms and be ready to compete AT LEAST 60 MINUTES prior to their scheduled event. Registration is cut off 60 minutes prior to each event.
    • The schedule is subject to change, and events can be run up to an hour ahead of posted times.
    • There is a $5 refundable deposit for competition numbers. Please have $5 cash ready when registering at the competition.
    • All amateur competitors must be a member of a recognized amateur DanceSport organization.

    • Online registration opens on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 12:00 noon Vancouver time.
    • Entry Form is available for download at www.snowballclassic.com

    • Please register early as space is limited and events may be closed prior to the registration deadline.
